About the presenters

Suphannada Lowhachai is a Policy and Planning Analyst in the Social Database and Indicator Development Office of Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development. She is involved in the compilation of the NTA for Thailand. Her research focuses on economic and social disparities between provinces. Earlier, she worked at the National Accounts Office, where she was in charge of compiling financial data for households, non-financial corporations, the government, and the rest of the world, as well as the real estate production sector. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

Sang-Hyop Lee is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for Korean Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is also an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the East-West Center. His recent research has focused on the linkage between population aging, labor markets, and social welfare issues, with particular emphasis on Asia. He is co-editor of four recent books on the Korean economy and has worked on numerous projects related to population aging. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University.
